Gerry Hemingway / Tony Wilson / John Gross
Gerry Hemingway / Tony Wilson / John Gross
A meeting of three of North America's most captivating musicians. A longtime Anthony Braxton collaborator, American drummer Gerry Hemingway has been on the leading edge of creative music since the early '70s, working with John Butcher, Ellery Eskelin, and more. A master of saxophone multiphonics (he literally wrote the book on it!), former Portlander/new-Vancouverite John Gross has worked with Alan Jones, Tony Malaby, and Lionel Hampton. Tony Wilson is one of the most important figures in Canadian jazz. The remarkably inventive guitarist mixes compositional acumen and technical virtuosity with fiery improvisational abandon, all in the service of the higher power of expressiveness.
