“If you think you can imagine what piano, drums, and two trumpets will sound like, think again.”―KPFA Radio
Melodic beauty, provocative abstraction, and confrontational fire: KAZE is free jazz at its most creative and powerful. The Japanese/French quartet shares boundless energy and enthusiasm, an insatiable appetite for sonic experimentation, and the disciplined intelligence of accomplished spontaneous composers. With three acclaimed albums under their belt, KAZE is in full flight. This is “bold, uncompromising music” (London Jazz News) featuring pianist Satoko Fujii, the trumpet tandem of France’s Christian Pruvost and Japan’s Natsuki Tamura, and French drummer Peter Orins.
